The Infrastructure Improvement Initiative will gain momentum this week as implementation of prioritized improvement actions commence for Project Assignment and Project Tracking & Management. Identification of process fail-points will continue for Billing & Collections as the “as-is” process map is finalized.
Mini focus groups will be conducted with subject matter experts this week to review the steps currently required to complete a final report. The intent of this activity is to identify improvement opportunities to reduce the time it takes to complete a report (ie. folder access, standard template construction, in process workflow & communication, etc..).

- DWG arranged working sessions and developed a questionnaire for focus groups to collect subject matter expert input regarding issues/problems that negatively affect cycle time, and related improvement suggestions.
- DWG developed a first draft “as-is” process map for the Billing and Collections Process Improvement Team, thus initiating the identification of improvement opportunities within those processes.
- DWG transitioned the responsibility for implementation of improvement activities for the Project Management & Tracking Process to Brook Whitman.
Accomplishments Expected This Week (March 30-April 3)
- Research on document workflow technology will be completed, and selection of a solution for project intake and PIF workflow will be identified.
- Client preferences prompts and instructions will begin to be integrated into the PIF workflow solution.
- Documentation will begin on FMV request assignment criteria across all service lines.
- Communication plans announcing process changes for stakeholders and clients will be prepared to prepare the way for improvement activities.
- The Matter Naming Convention standards will be applied to folder names on the L: drive.
- DWG will conduct focus groups to collect subject matter expert input regarding issues/problems that negatively affect project generation cycle time.
- DWG will further detail the “as-is” process map for the Billing and Collections processes.
